Olive Tree Cottage is on Hoad Farm, just outside the village of Swingfield Minnis. It's part of a converted old farm building. There's a shared courtyard at the back, which is fenced in, and then a gate leads to a big lawned area for everyone. There's a barbecue out there and a bit of a kids' play area.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with double beds, and each has its own bathroom which is handy. They've both got French doors that open onto the courtyard. The main living space is open plan, kitchen, dining, and sitting area all together. It's a clean, practical sort of place. It's got a 3 Star rating, which fits.
The farm itself is old, parts of it date back hundreds of years, but the cottage is modern inside. You've got parking right outside. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Towels and bedding are included. You can bring one dog.
Location wise, you're in the countryside but not far from things. Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel are about a fifteen minute drive. Dover and the ferries are maybe twenty five minutes. The coast at Hythe or Sandgate is about twenty minutes away. For a really good walk, the White Cliffs of Dover are a must.
Canterbury is half an hour's drive if you want a proper day out in the city. There's also Dover Castle which is about twenty minutes away. If you're here for the history, you're in a good spot.
