The Stable is in Womenswold, which is quiet. It's an old brick building from the 1700s, part of what used to be a coach house. It's Grade II listed, so it's all the original brick and beams.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. We updated it a few years ago, so it has things like underfloor heating and good broadband, but the character is all still there. The stairs are quite narrow.
It's on a working farm. You look out over parkland with sheep. Sometimes you'll see horses using the cross-country course. There's a map on the wall showing how to get straight onto the footpaths. You can walk to the North Downs Way from the door.
Canterbury is about fifteen minutes' drive. That's where you'll find most of the shops and restaurants. There's a bus stop a fifteen minute walk away, through the fields, that goes there and to Folkestone.
The coast is a twenty minute drive. You've got choices: Whitstable for the oysters and harbour, Deal for the seafront and castle, or Sandwich Bay. Dover Castle and the cliffs are about twelve miles. The closest pub is in the next village, a couple of miles away.
Things here: parking right outside, a washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. The entrance and ground floor are wheelchair accessible.
For planning, the National Trust has a lot of places nearby, like White Cliffs of Dover. The North Downs National Landscape site is good for walk ideas.
