Eagles Nest
Eagles Nest is in Capel le Ferne, Kent. It's on a clifftop, built into the chalk. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the Channel, towards France. You can see along the coast past Wear Bay to Dungeness.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. There's also a sofa bed. The beds are positioned so you see the sea when you wake up. The sitting room is big, with a large window facing the sea. The walls are white, so your eye goes straight to the view.
It's got some extras you don't always get. There's an indoor heated pool, a sauna, and a small gym with a cross trainer and some weights. The pool is nice in the evening when the sun sets over St Mary's Bay.
The stairs are fine. There's on-site parking. All bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three pets.
For walks, you're right on the clifftop path. The National Trust White Cliffs are to the east. The Warren, which is a woodland area, is down below. You might see seals from there sometimes.
Folkestone is about a ten-minute drive. It's got a sandy beach, some good places to eat, and the old high street has interesting shops. Dover with the castle is about fifteen minutes the other way. Hythe and the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway are within half an hour.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, Sky TV, a woodburning stove, and a garden with a BBQ. There's a ground floor wet room. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped.
