The Bird House is aptly named from the abundance of magnificent and varied birdlife that frequents this cedar wood lodge, perched in the picture postcard wooded Teifi Valley. Situated within the family run holiday park of Penlan with a number of similar lodges, the detached lodge is surrounded by oak and beech trees in this sublime countryside. Guests have use of a host of activities on-site to keep the children entertained.
A few footsteps away you can be rambling through the 325 acres of Ffynone and Cilgwyn Woodlands with footpaths running down into the quaint hamlet of Cenarth. Here you can discover the meandering River Teifi rapids or enjoy some home cooking in one of the traditional Welsh pubs.
The Bird House offers a large open plan kitchen, living and dining room with vaulted ceiling, and a contemporary free-standing kitchen offering a fantastic focal point and a great entertaining space. Enjoy the views out through the patio doors and on towards the woods. The large decked area surrounding The Bird House offers sunshine throughout the day and is the perfect place to dine al fresco or relax with a good book. There is a children’s playground, large playing field and picnic area . Wi-Fi can also be accessed outside the bar and in the office areas.
Travelling north, the glorious beaches of Newport Sands, Poppit Sands, Penbryn and Mwnt are just a few worthy of a visit, and several beaches are dog friendly all year round and Newquay, a popular tourist destination is only 25 minutes away. For an adventurous day out, why not ramble some of the 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and discover its natural beauty which is home to rare sea birds, bottlenose dolphins, sandy coves and idyllic beaches. Locally, the towns of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn, with their medieval castles, traditional Welsh pubs and highly acclaimed restaurants are worth a visit.
