Bakehouse Cottage

This is Bakehouse Cottage in Kirkmichael. It used to be the village bakery. It's a stone cottage, detached. It's got the old beams inside, so the ceilings are a bit low in places. That's just how it is.

It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. You can bring one dog.

There's a private parking bay right by the cottage. The back garden is enclosed. It's a real suntrap. You can sit out there.

You're right on the village street. The local shop and the Kirkmichael Arms pub are a two-minute walk. The pub does food. The cottage is at the start of the Kirkmichael Path Network for walking. You can fish in the river.

Being here, you're pretty much in the middle of Scotland. So you can go in most directions for a day out. Pitlochry is about twenty minutes away over the moor. Blairgowrie is about the same. Glenshee is up the road for skiing in winter, or you can just go up on the chairlift in summer. The Cairngorms are under an hour's drive.

For indoors, Blair Castle is close by. The House of Bruar is a big shopping stop on the A9. Dundee with the V&A is about an hour.

Inside, there's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's storage for bikes.

The owners live nearby. They've been doing this a long time. They're there if you need anything, but they'll leave you alone.

You can book it together with MacDonald Cottage next door if you've got a bigger group.
