For a real cottage holiday, look no further than this delightful, quirky terraced cottage, next to the owner’s home and set down a quiet lane in the hamlet of Kirkmichael. Original features such as the traditional open fire in the living room have been preserved to enhance the cosy atmosphere. It still heats the water when the fire is on, but an alternative system is in place for warm sunny days, when instead of curling with a good book by the fire, you can sit outside either on the balcony or in the spacious garden just across the path, and soak up the sun.
The Cateran Trail runs right past the house; a circular walk of forest, farmland and hills of 64 miles, encompassing Blairowrie, Kirkmichael, Glenshee, Glenisla and Alyth. Walk as much or as little as you like in stunning scenery. Pitlochry and Blairgowrie are less than 13 miles from the village, and both have plenty to see and do, including the famous fish ladder and Festival Theatre in Pitlochry. There is a championship golf course in Blairgowrie, not to mention great local produce for which the area is famed. Kirkmichael itself has a good local shop and café, as well as a local pub for dining or enjoying a drink and riverside walks. A real haven for rest and relaxation. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 350 yards.
