This place is called Glen Hideaway. It's a log cabin near Kirkmichael in Perthshire. Detached, with a grass roof. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, and it's got two bathrooms which is handy.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable, with decent stuff like a wood burner, dishwasher, and wifi. It's clean and well-kept. The main room is open plan with a high ceiling so it feels spacious. It leads out onto a deck.
The location is very quiet. You're down a private track away from the road, surrounded by trees. You'll see red squirrels and deer. The track isn't tarmac, and in winter it can get icy or snowy. We're nearby if you get stuck, but a car with decent tyres is a good idea.
There's about three acres of sloping garden with paths through the woods. You can walk straight out from the cabin onto the moor. The Cateran Trail long-distance path is close by. The local shop and pub are about a mile away in Kirkmichael.
Glenshee ski centre is about a 20 minute drive for skiing in winter. Pitlochry and Blairgowrie are both about 13 miles away. They've got all the usual shops, places to eat, and Pitlochry has a theatre and a distillery.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right there. Facilities include the things you'd expect: washing machine, TV, cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are provided.
