Orchard Barn is in Cwm y gaist, near Llandrindod Wells. It's detached, so no neighbours attached to the walls. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One king-size bedroom and bathroom are downstairs. Upstairs is a room with two singles and another bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a good, solid conversion. Everything works.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen, living area, dining table, all in one space. There's underfloor heating, which is great in winter. You get a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for two cars.
You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
It's a very quiet spot. Llandrindod Wells is about ten minutes away by car. It's a proper little town with shops, a couple of supermarkets, and a nice lake to walk around. The Elan Valley is within half an hour. The reservoirs there are something else. Good for a walk or a drive. Elan Valley Trust has maps and information.
If you like walking, the Offa's Dyke Path isn't far. The Cambrian Mountains are on your doorstep for more serious stuff. For a shorter trip, the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust has a few reserves nearby.
Presteigne is worth a visit, about twenty minutes away. The Judge's Lodging there is interesting if you like history. For something different, the Small Breeds Farm in Kington is about a 25 minute drive.
That's about it. It's a comfortable base in quiet countryside.
