Ithon Bank
Ithon Bank is one of three lodges on the farm here in Penybon, which is just outside Rhayader. It's detached. The main thing is the view. It's a working farm, so it's quiet, but there might be some tractor noise during the day. It's fine, nothing loud.
It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and one bathroom. The washroom is on the ground floor. It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything is clean and works. It's comfortable. The layout is open plan downstairs.
You get your own patio and garden area. The hot tub is out there. It's private, and the view from it is really good. You're looking out over the fields and the valley.
There's a pub a mile and a half away. A shop is about three miles, in Rhayader. Rhayader has the red kite feeding station, which is worth seeing. The Elan Valley reservoirs are the big draw for the area, for walking and fishing. It's about a 15 minute drive. The water is incredibly clear. You can hire bikes there too, and it's good for mountain biking.
For walking, you're right near Glyndwr's Way. The Elan Valley website has good trail maps. The Visit Mid Wales site is useful for planning.
Further afield, you can get to Hay-on-Wye in about half an hour. Hereford, for the cathedral and Mappa Mundi, is about 45 minutes. Aberystwyth and the coast are just over an hour.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking right outside. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
