Gwynfan Bungalow

Gwynfan is a bungalow on the edge of Llanyre village. It's detached, so it's just you and the fields. The views are across to the Radnor Forest and the Black Mountains. On a clear night, you can see a lot of stars.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's included: bedding, towels, electricity. There's a wood burner for cooler nights, and a patio with a BBQ. The garden is yours. You can bring two dogs.

Inside, it's all on one level, so no stairs. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a TV. We've left some games in the cupboard. There's also a cot and a highchair if you need them.

The village pub is about a mile away. They do good food. For shops, Llandrindod Wells is about ten minutes by car. They've got the basics: supermarkets, a chemist, a few cafes. The town has a Victorian spa history, which they celebrate with a festival in August.

You're in a good spot for getting out. The Elan Valley dams are about a twenty minute drive. It's impressive engineering and great for a walk. Rhayader is close by too, where you can see the red kite feeding station.

The Brecon Beacons National Park is within half an hour. For a longer day out, Hay-on-Wye is about forty minutes away if you like books. Offa's Dyke runs through the area if you're into walking.
