Hawthorn Lodge is in Nant Glas, which is in Mid Wales. It's a detached lodge. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves. It's very rural, quiet, and the views are good.
The lodge sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating from Visit Wales, which is partly because it's fully wheelchair accessible. It's all on one level, with wide doorways and walk-in showers. There are ramps outside onto the decking and garden.
The living area is open plan, so everyone's together. There's a wood burner for the evenings. The kitchen worktops are a bit lower than usual to make them easier to use. There's a private hot tub on the deck.
The nearest pub is about six miles away in Llanwrtyd Wells. It serves food. For shopping, Llandrindod Wells is about seven and a half miles. It's a proper town with supermarkets.
You're right on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains here. For walking, the Brecon Beacons National Park is about a 25 minute drive south. The Elan Valley and its dams are about half an hour west, it's a spectacular drive. Rhayader is closer, they have a red kite feeding station. Hay-on-Wye is about 40 minutes south.
Facilities wise: everything's included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. The heating is on thermostats in each room.
