Pistyll Gwyn

Pistyll Gwyn is a converted barn on a working sheep farm near Llanwrthwl. You get to it by driving up a farm track. The track is fine for normal cars, just take it slow.

It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor. Everything has underfloor heating. There's a wood burner in the living room.

The kitchen is big and the view from it is just fields and hills. There's a separate utility room with space for boots and washing gear, which is handy with dogs.

You're right on the River Wye here. Rhayader is the nearest town, a few miles north. It's a small place with shops, cafes, and a few pubs. They have a pump track for bikes if that's your thing.

The main reason to be here is for the Elan Valley. It's about a ten minute drive. It's all reservoirs, dams, and proper big landscapes. You'll see red kites everywhere. The Elan Valley Trust website has maps and details for walks and bike rides. The visitor centre does food and coffee.

Llandrindod Wells is about ten miles away. Builth Wells is a bit further. That's where the Royal Welsh Showground is.

Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
