Glan Wye

Glan Wye is a converted stone barn on our farm, Glan Elan. It's in Llansantffraed, a little outside Rhayader. The cottage is detached, with its own garden and parking.

It sleeps six. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well equipped and comfortable, not overly modernised. You'll find it clean.

The main thing here is the view. You look directly out over the town and the valley towards the Elan dams. It's quiet. You're welcome to use the public footpaths on the farm if you want to walk straight from the door.

Rhayader is about a fifteen minute walk. It's a small town. There's a leisure centre with a pool, a few shops, and some pubs that do food. The town is known for canoeing on the River Wye. The Welsh Kite Feeding Centre is here too.

The Elan Valley is the big attraction. The reservoirs and the Victorian dams are about ten minutes away by car. It's spectacular for walking and cycling. There's a good traffic-free cycle track on the old railway line that starts nearby. The Elan Valley Trust website has maps and information about events.

You can get to quite a few places within half an hour. The Red Kite feeding station at Gigrin Farm is near. The Royal Welsh Showground at Llanelwedd is about twenty minutes. For a day out, you can drive to Devil's Bridge and get the steam train to Aberystwyth.

For facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding is included. We have a cot and a highchair if needed. There's an electric vehicle charger. Sorry, no pets.
