Mayflower
This is Mayflower. It's a shepherd's hut near St Harmon, in Powys. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom.
It's got a wood burner inside, which is nice when it's cold. Outside, there's your own garden and a private hot tub. The skies are dark here, so on a clear night you can see a lot of stars.
The hut is on a site with a few others. You've got your own bit. It's quiet and rural.
Gilfach Nature Reserve is a short walk away. It's good for a stroll. The main thing here is the Elan Valley. It's about a ten minute drive. The scenery is really good, with the dams and reservoirs. Good for walking or cycling. The Elan Valley Trust website has maps and information.
Rhayader is the nearest town, maybe five minutes in the car. It's a small market town with shops, cafes, and a couple of pubs. The Red Kite feeding centre is just outside it.
If you want to go further, Llandrindod Wells is about 20 minutes away. It's a spa town with a golf course. Builth Wells is about half an hour. The Brecon Beacons are maybe an hour's drive for a bigger day out. The Brecon Beacons National Park site is useful for that.
Facilities: there's a shower, toilet, TV, and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. Heating and electricity are part of the price. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right next to the hut.
