Mayflower
This is the Mayflower. It's a shepherd's hut in St Harmon, up near Rhayader in Mid Wales. It's for two people.
It's got a wood burner and a private hot tub in its own garden bit. You get the hot tub to yourselves. At night, because there's not many lights around, you can see a lot of stars. It's a dark sky area.
Inside it's one room, open plan. Bed, kitchen area, seating. There's a shower room. It's a nice finish, but it's still a hut, so the space is compact. Everything's included - bedding, towels, the logs for the burner.
You can bring two dogs. Parking is right there.
The Gilfach Nature Reserve is a few minutes' walk up the road. It's good for a proper stretch of the legs, with the river and waterfalls.
Rhayader is about a ten minute drive. There are shops and a few places to eat there. The main thing here is the Elan Valley. It's about 15 minutes by car. The scenery is very good. Big reservoirs, dams, loads of walking and cycling tracks. You'll see red kites there. There's a feeding centre near Rhayader if you want to see them up close.
For a day out, Llandrindod Wells is a spa town about half an hour away. Builth Wells is a bit further, maybe 35 minutes. The Brecon Beacons are about an hour's drive south if you fancy a bigger mountain walk.
