Cwmfron House
Cwmfron House is in Tylwch, up a farm track off a quiet road. It's a detached stone house, so you don't share walls with anyone. The garden goes all the way around. It's peaceful, just fields and hills.
It sleeps six. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. One of the bathrooms and a bedroom are on the ground floor. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair, and there's a ramp to the front door. The rest of the house is over two floors with normal stairs.
You're about two miles from Llanidloes. It's a proper market town with shops, pubs, and places to eat. Rhayader is a short drive the other way, maybe ten minutes. That's where you go for the Red Kite feeding centre. It's a good afternoon. You see the birds, then they do a sheepdog demonstration.
The main thing here is the Elan Valley. It's about a twenty-minute drive. The scenery is serious. Big reservoirs, dams, and forests. You can drive the valley road, or there are loads of walking and cycling tracks. The Elan Valley website has maps. The National Trust and CPAT have info on other local walks and historic sites.
Further out, you've got Builth Wells for the Royal Welsh showground, and Llandrindod Wells is a spa town with a golf course. The Brecon Beacons are about an hour's drive if you fancy a bigger mountain day.
In the house, there's a wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Plenty of parking. No pets, sorry.
