Lakeside Lodge
Lakeside Lodge is in Gaufron in Mid Wales. It's a detached house by a private lake. The view from the deck is over the water.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Two of the upstairs bathrooms have freestanding baths. It's a 5 Star lodge, so it's well kitted out. Everything's included: bedding, towels, WiFi, that sort of thing.
The deck is enclosed and has a hot tub looking out at the lake. There's a wood burner indoors and a BBQ outside. Parking is on site.
There's a shop, a pub and a restaurant about three miles away. The location is quiet and rural.
You're right on the edge of the Elan Valley. The scenery there is very good for walking or cycling. The Elan Valley Trust site has maps and information. The Red Kite Feeding Station is nearby. Gilfach Nature Reserve is worth a visit too, it has some small waterfalls.
Further out, you've got the whole of Mid Wales to explore. Aberystwyth is about an hour's drive to the west. Visit Wales is a useful site for planning.
The place comes with locally made organic soaps in the bathrooms and a welcome hamper of local produce. No pets, sorry.
