Lakeside Lodge is near Rhayader in Mid Wales. It's a detached place, so no neighbours sharing walls. It looks out over a private lake.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which is handy with that many people. Two of the upstairs rooms have freestanding baths. It’s a 5 Star property, so it’s well kitted out and everything is in good order. It’s comfortable.
The main deck area is enclosed, which is good if you have kids or a dog. There’s a hot tub there that faces the lake. You get some handmade soaps in the bathrooms and a welcome hamper with local bits and pieces.
You’re a few miles from a shop, a pub, and a restaurant. For a proper day out, the Elan Valley is right there. The scenery is good, plenty of water and forest. It’s proper walking and cycling country. The Red Kite feeding station is close by, and the sheepdog demonstrations are worth seeing.
If you want to explore further, Visit Mid Wales has ideas. The National Trust’s Llanerchaeron is about a 45-minute drive, and the coast at Aberystwyth is under an hour.
The facilities are all there: wood burner, BBQ, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking. Towels and bedding are included. It’s a Christmas property, so it’s available over the festive period. Sorry, no pets.
