Gorsddu

Gorsddu is in Llanwrthwl, which is about six miles south of Rhayader. It's a detached cottage, very quiet and remote. You're up on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains here, so the views are massive. The big sun room is where you'll end up spending most of your time, just looking out.

It sleeps seven. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done to a high standard. It's a restoration, so some things are modern and some are original. The stairs are fairly steep, just so you know.

There's a lockable shed outside that stores up to seven bikes. It also works as a drying room. The garden is enclosed and there's parking.

For essentials, there's a convenience store, petrol station and a cafe about two miles down the road in Llanwrthwl itself. Rhayader is six miles north. That's where you'll find the main shops, pubs, and places to eat. It's known for canoeing on the River Wye.

The location is good for walking and cycling straight from the door. The National Cycle Route 8 goes through here. The Elan Valley reservoirs are a short drive away, maybe 15 minutes. That's a good day out for walking or driving the scenic route. You'll see red kites there. Elan Valley has all the information.

Other places within half an hour include Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells, and the RSPB reserve at Carngafallt.

In terms of what's here: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The property accepts up to two pets.
