Kite 2 is one of four converted barns here. It's in a quiet valley near Llanafan Fawr, about eight miles from Builth Wells. The views are of fields, woods, and our fishing lake.
It sleeps four, but it's all in one open-plan space. There's a double bed and a sofa bed, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable, not luxurious. Because it's a barn conversion, the ceiling is high and the room feels big, but it's all one room.
On the site, there's a shared indoor heated swimming pool you can book slots for, and a games room with a TV and console. There's a small golf course outside and a play area. You can fish in the lake, fly or coarse. We see red kites here a lot, which is how it got its name. The WiFi works in the cottage and in the shared areas.
You'll need a car. The nearest shop is about five miles away. The nearest pub or restaurant is in Builth Wells, eight miles.
For days out, the Elan Valley reservoirs are about half an hour's drive. Good for walking and cycling. Elan Valley has all the information. The National Trust has a few places like Dinefwr Park within reach too, if you fancy a drive.
Included in the cottage: bedding and towels, a cot, a washing machine, dishwasher, and TV. There's a BBQ outside. Parking is right outside. No pets, sorry.
If you're coming with a bigger group, you can book Kite 2 together with the other three barns - Magpie, Robin’s Retreat, and Kite 1.
