This is Pen Y Crug, near Beulah in Powys. It's down a quiet lane next to a working farm. A proper old Welsh stone cottage. Detached, with its own enclosed garden.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms but there's only one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are something to know about. There are two separate staircases up to the bedrooms. One of them, from the kitchen, is a bit like a steep ladder. It goes straight into the middle bedroom.
The place is very rural. You'll see red kites and buzzards most days. Good for walks right from the door. There's bike storage if you bring cycles.
Builth Wells is about six miles away for shops, cafes, and pubs. That's also where the Royal Welsh Showground is, which has various events all year. The Brecon Beacons are about 17 miles for a drive. If you head the other way, the Elan Valley reservoirs and dams are 15 miles off. The views there are very good. Hay-on-Wye, for the bookshops and the festival, is about 35 minutes by car.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot out if you need one. You can bring two dogs. There's parking.
