The Cottage

The Cottage is in Kilham, in the Yorkshire Wolds. It's listed, so it's old and solid. It stands opposite the church. The main door is at the front, but everyone uses the back door to come and go.

It sleeps up to eleven people in four bedrooms. Two of them are downstairs, two upstairs. There are two bathrooms: one with a shower on the ground floor, and one with a bath and a shower upstairs. One bedroom has bunk beds as well as a double, and another has a super king that can be split into twins, plus a single day bed. It's a four star rating.

The stairs are fine, just remember it's an old cottage so some floors aren't level and there are beams to mind your head on. It's part of the character.

You get the whole garden. It's big, completely enclosed, with a lawn and a patio. There's a hot tub. In the outbuilding there's a games room with a ping pong table and a dartboard.

Inside, there's a kitchen with a table, a dining room with a wood burner, and a living room with another wood burner and a smart TV. There's also a small snug with books. All the bedding and towels are included.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.

The village has a shop that's open every day, and a pub just over the road that does food. There's a good playground and a playing field with tennis courts.

Bridlington and its beaches are about a twenty minute drive. For a walk, the Wolds are right there. For a day out, RSPB Bempton Cliffs is about half an hour away for the seabirds. The historic houses like Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere are within a short drive. York is about an hour if you fancy a city trip.
