The Hind House
The Hind House is on our farm, Cottam Warren. It's down a long drive under some large beech trees. It's detached, so no one next door. The views are over the fields, which I'm biased about, but they are good.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. We refurbished it a few years back so it's in good shape, but it's still a farmhouse.
The kitchen has an Aga. It works, but it might be a bit much if you're not used to one. There's a normal electric oven as well, so don't panic. There's a book of Aga recipes if you fancy trying it.
The dining room's in the middle of the house with a big staircase. The garden's enclosed, which is handy. There's a patio that gets the evening sun. We've also got a kennel for a dog and a store for bikes.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see tractors and things during the day. It's quiet at night. Driffield is the nearest town, about four miles for shops. The nearest pub is about five miles, so you'll likely drive.
For things to do, you're in the Yorkshire Wolds. There are footpaths straight from the door. The Wolds Way is close by if you like walking. Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall are stately homes nearby. The coast at Bridlington, Filey or Scarborough is about half an hour's drive. York is under an hour.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. There's also a lockable gun cabinet in case you're here for shooting.
