The Hind House

The Hind House is a detached house on Cottam Warren farm. It’s down a long drive, under some big trees. You look out over fields.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which is about right. The place was done up a few years ago and it’s in good order.

There’s a big kitchen with an Aga. It’s a proper working one, not just for show. If you don’t want to use it, there’s a normal electric oven as well. The dining room’s in the middle of the house with a big window. The stairs are quite grand and sweep around.

The garden is enclosed, which is good if you’ve got kids or a dog. There’s a patio that gets the evening sun. We’ve put a kennel out there and a store for bikes. If you’re into shooting, there’s a lockable cabinet for a gun.

You’re on the edge of a working farm, so you might see a tractor. It’s quiet. The Wolds Way is nearby if you walk. Driffield is four miles for shops. The nearest pub is about five miles.

The coast is about half an hour’s drive. Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough. Inland, you’ve got Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall which are worth a visit. York, Beverley, and the North York Moors are all within an hour.

Facilities: it’s got the things you’d expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Woodburner. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking right outside. You can bring one dog. We’ve got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
