The Granary
The Granary is one of three barn conversions on a farm just outside Langtoft. Ours and the owners are the only buildings here. It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms so no queuing.
It's a 5 Star place. That means it's well equipped and in good order. Everything works. You're not roughing it.
The barn is on two floors. There's a wood burner in the main living area. The kitchen is modern. The doors are wide and the ground floor is all level, so it works well for wheelchair users or anyone who doesn't do stairs. The upstairs bedrooms are accessed by a normal staircase.
Outside, there's an enclosed terrace with a table and chairs, and a private hot tub. The garden looks out over fields. You can bring two dogs. There's bike storage if you need it.
The owners live on site in the farmhouse. They're there if you need anything but won't bother you.
Location wise, you're in the Yorkshire Wolds. It's quiet. The nearest shop and pub are in Langtoft, about three miles away. Driffield is the main local town, about ten minutes by car.
For a day out, Bridlington, Filey and Hornsea are all within half an hour for the coast. The historic city of York is about 45 minutes drive. Beverley is closer, maybe 25 minutes. For stately homes, Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere Hall are nearby. National Trust Yorkshire has a good list of other places to visit.
Facilities are all included: WiFi, TV, washer, dishwasher, cot, highchair, bedding and towels. Parking is right outside.
