Arran
The Arran is one of our glamping pods here at Holmbyre Smithy, near Dalry. It's in a field, so it’s quiet. You can see the hills from the patio.
It’s a detached pod, so you’re on your own. It sleeps four, but that’s with the sofa bed made up in the main living space. There’s one proper bedroom with a double bed and one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s warm and clean.
There’s a small kitchen area with the basics. You get bedding and towels. TV with internet. The main thing is the private hot tub outside. It looks right out over the fields. That's included.
You’re about five miles from the coast at West Kilbride and Seamill. The beach there is shingle and sand. For a big day out, you can drive to Ardrossan and get the ferry to the Isle of Arran. That takes about an hour including the crossing.
The Ayrshire Coastal Path is good for walking. It starts nearby. If you’re into golf, Royal Troon and Prestwick are about a half hour drive. Culzean Castle and Country Park is about twenty minutes away. It’s run by the National Trust for Scotland.
Facilities: It’s all on one level. There’s a patio with the hot tub. Parking is right next to the pod. WiFi is included. You can bring one dog. There’s another pod, Islay, nearby if you’re a bigger group.
