The Old Foundry is on Main Street in Dalry. It's a semi-detached cottage, so there's a house attached on one side, but you can't hear them. Your bit is all self-contained.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's quite handy with a group, I think. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done up to a high standard and everything's new.
The village has what you need: a couple of shops, a few pubs. It's a proper Ayrshire village, not a tourist spot. For a big supermarket or the coast, you'd drive to Ayr. That's about 20 minutes.
If you're here to walk, the Ayrshire Coastal Path is right on the doorstep. You can join it from the village. The countryside around here is gentle, good for cycling too. For a dramatic coastal walk, you'd drive down to the shore near Turnberry.
Within half an hour you can get to Culzean Castle, which is spectacular. It's National Trust for Scotland. National Trust for Scotland Culzean Castle. You're also in Burns Country. Alloway, where Robert Burns was born, is about a 25 minute drive. To the north, you can get to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs in under an hour. Glasgow is about 45 minutes by car, Edinburgh just over an hour.
The place has a proper enclosed garden out the back with a patio and a BBQ. It's south facing so it gets the sun. Parking is on the drive at the front. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, all the stuff you'd expect. Everything's included like bedding and towels.
One thing to know: I run a hair and beauty clinic two minutes away on the same street. If you fancied a treatment or a haircut while you're here, you can book in. It's there if you want it, ignore it if you don't.
