Hillend Stables
Hillend Stables is near Dalry, in Ayrshire. It's an old farm building that's been converted. You've got fields all around. The views are good, very open.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well done. It feels spacious.
There's a big deck outside with a hot tub. There's also a shepherd's hut style sauna out there, which is a bit different. Inside, there's a glass walkway over the kitchen that leads to one of the bedrooms. It's a nice feature.
The owner runs a hair and beauty clinic about two minutes walk away. You can book treatments if you want, from a haircut to a full day.
For getting about, there's a shop a quarter of a mile away. A pub and restaurant are about half a mile. The nearest beach is at Saltcoats or Irvine, about seven or eight miles.
If you want to walk, the Ayrshire Coastal Path starts nearby. Culzean Castle is about half an hour's drive. It's a big country park with woods and a beach. You can get ferries to Arran or Cumbrae from Ardrossan, which is also about half an hour away. Glasgow is less than an hour if you fancy a day trip.
Facilities wise, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking, a garden, and a BBQ. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance. No pets.
