Sorbie Villa
Sorbie Villa is in Ardrossan. It's the lower half of a Victorian villa, about 200 yards from the sandy beach. You can see the sea from here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. The garden is shared with the upstairs flat, but it's sectioned so you have your own bit.
You can bring two dogs. There's a park right next to the property that leads straight down to the beach, which is handy for them.
Ardrossan itself has shops, pubs, and places to eat, all within walking distance. The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs right past. The view across to Arran is good, especially when the sun's setting behind the mountains.
If you want to go further, Largs is about a 20-minute drive up the coast. You can get the ferry to Millport from there. The island of Arran is a 55-minute ferry from Ardrossan harbour, which is just down the road. It's a proper day out. Glasgow is under an hour by train if you want a city trip.
For history, Culzean Castle is about half an hour's drive. It's a National Trust for Scotland property, so it's well kept. The grounds are good for a walk. National Trust for Scotland: Culzean Castle.
