Tennox Stables is a house just outside Kilbirnie, up in Ayrshire. It's detached, part of a small gated estate with about four other houses, so it's quiet. You get some privacy.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It has a 5 Star rating, which means everything should be in good order and it's been recently done up. The stairs are steep in places, and some are narrow. Just so you know.
The garden has a patio and its own hot tub. You can use the barbecue. There's parking for a couple of cars.
Inside, it's got a wood burner for chilly nights, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Towels and bedding are included. There's WiFi and a TV.
The location is rural, but not remote. You're in the countryside with fields around, but the coast is about an eight-mile drive. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is right there if you want a long walk. Good for spotting wildlife.
It's Burns Country, so there's a lot of Robert Burns history nearby if that's your thing. The ruins of Dunure and Turnberry castles are along the coast. Culzean Castle is about a half-hour drive south, right on the cliffs. It's National Trust. National Trust for Scotland - Culzean Castle.
Ayr and Troon are classic Scottish seaside towns, about 20-30 minutes by car. You can get the ferry to Arran from Ardrossan, which isn't far. Glasgow is less than an hour's drive if you need a city day, or you can get the train from nearby.
The owner runs a salon two minutes down the road. You can book treatments if you want a haircut or a facial.
