Golf is a big thing here. There are lots of courses, including Turnberry which is about a twenty minute drive. Culzean Castle is spectacular and worth a visit. It's run by the National Trust for Scotland. It's about half an hour by car.
Ayr is a traditional seaside town, about eight miles away. If you want to go further, Glasgow is under an hour's drive. The ferry to Arran leaves from Ardrossan, which is about twenty five minutes away.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking and the entrance is wheelchair accessible. No pets, sorry.
