The Old Shippen is in Virginstow. It used to be a cow shed on the farm, it's semi-detached now. It's on a working dairy farm, so you'll see the cows in the fields. Sometimes you can hear them too, if the wind's in the right direction.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one with twin beds. They both have Velux windows in the roof. The bathroom is upstairs too, it's tiled and has a shower over the bath. There's another toilet downstairs.
Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen and dining area with a table for four, then the lounge with the wood burner. It's not a huge space, but it's enough. The farm provides the wood for the burner. Outside is an enclosed patio area. It's secure if you have a dog.
We accept up to two dogs. There's a field right next to the cottage where you can walk them, and lots of lanes around.
Location wise, you're right on the edge of Devon and Cornwall. Launceston is about ten minutes by car. They've got a supermarket and a castle. Bude's about half an hour away for the beach. Dartmoor is maybe forty minutes.
If you want to go further, the North Cornwall coast around Padstow is within an hour. The Eden Project is just over an hour.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped. There's a dishwasher, WiFi, a washing machine, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. Bedding and towels are included.
