Bengairn Tongland

Bengairn is a modern, wooden lodge near the village of Tongland. It's on a slope in woodland, so the views are good. It's detached and quiet.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs and have their own shower rooms. The third room has bunk beds and is on the ground floor. There's another bathroom down there too.

It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's been recently done up. The main living area is open plan with doors out to the garden. The kitchen is separate but right next to it.

The garden is a good size and slopes down into the woods. You can take a walk through the trees from the property. It's not completely flat, so something to be aware of.

Kirkcudbright is the nearest proper town, about three miles away. It's a nice harbour town with galleries and places to eat. The coast and beaches are about a six mile drive.

For a day out, you can get to Dumfries in about half an hour. Threave Garden and Castle is close by, that's National Trust. The Galloway Forest Park is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes, if you want proper hill walking or dark sky spotting.

Facilities: There's parking for two cars. The property is all on one level from the parking area to the front door, and the ground floor bedroom and bathroom have wider doors, so it's potentially suitable for limited mobility. It says wheelchair accessible entrance. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
