Pollys Cottage is a converted barn near the village of Penybont, in Powys. It's one of two cottages here, semi-detached from the other. It's for two people, with one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You come in to one open-plan room. The kitchen, dining and sitting area are all together. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. Off that main room is a sun room with big windows, which gets a lot of light and has good views over the fields.
The stairs are a spiral staircase, which is quite steep and narrow. It goes up to a mezzanine level where the double bed is. It's not fully separated, so there's no door at the top of the stairs.
Outside, there's an enclosed lawned garden that's just for this cottage. There's a seating area out there. You can park right by the cottage.
The facilities are what you'd expect: wifi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There's a shower in the bathroom. There's storage if you bring bikes.
The location is quiet and rural. It's good for walking straight from the door. The local town is Llandrindod Wells, which is about a 15 minute drive. There's a golf course nearby, and you can arrange horse riding or fishing locally.
Further out, within about half an hour's drive, you can get to the Elan Valley, or up to the edges of the Brecon Beacons National Park. For a longer day out, the National Trust and Cadw have various properties and landscapes you can visit.
This cottage and the one next to it can be booked together if you're a larger group.
