Lodge 78 is on a resort just outside St Andrews, up in Fife. It's one of many lodges on the park, so it's not isolated, but you've got your own enclosed garden and patio. You can see the sea from there, and on a clear day you can make out the hills of the Cairngorms.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own shower rooms, which is handy. One king size, one twin. The living area is open plan with doors out to the garden. It's got a 5 Star rating so it's well kitted out and in good order.
There's a hot tub in the garden, sunken into the decking. The resort itself has a bar, restaurant, gym, sauna and a kids' play park you can use.
You're about five miles from St Andrews itself. It's a proper town, not just a golf place. The university and the castle ruins are worth a look. The coast here is good. The Fife Coastal Path goes right through all the little fishing villages like Anstruther and Crail. You can drive to them in ten or fifteen minutes. The beach at St Andrews is about a twenty minute drive.
If you fancy a day out, Edinburgh is under an hour's drive if the traffic's alright. Or you can go inland towards Falkland and up into the Lomond Hills.
Facilities are all there: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog.
A couple of sites if you're planning: National Trust for Scotland in Fife and Cairngorms National Park.
