The Farmhouse Banham

This is The Farmhouse at Wash Farm in Banham. It's on the edge of the village, down a track, so it's quiet. You've got fields on three sides. The award-winning Banham Zoo is right next door, literally over the fence. You can hear the animals sometimes, which the kids tend to love.

It sleeps ten. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's spacious and well-kept, more of a comfortable family house than a fancy show home. The kitchen is big enough for everyone to gather in.

You’re sharing the indoor heated swimming pool with guests from the other holiday barns on site. It's a good size and kept warm. You need to bring your own pool towels. We've got a few of the rare Suffolk Punch heavy horses in the paddocks. If you're interested in meeting them, just ask.

The shop and a pub are about half a mile away in the village. The pub does food and is a straightforward walk.

For walks, you can start right from the door onto the footpaths. New Buckenham Common, which is a Norfolk Wildlife Trust site, is a short drive and has plenty of trails. Wymondham is about ten minutes away for shops and cafes, and it has the Abbey. Norwich is about 35 minutes if you want a city day, for shopping or the castle.

The Norfolk Broads are roughly 40 minutes north. You can hire boats at Wroxham. The coast at Southwold is about an hour. The North Norfolk coast, for places like Holkham or Blakeney, is also about an hour's drive.

Facilities: it has a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking for several cars. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. You can bring up to two dogs.
