Chestnut Lodge

Chestnut Lodge is in Old Buckenham, Norfolk. It's a detached, single-storey lodge. That means no stairs inside, and there's a ramp up to the door. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom with a walk-in shower. You can bring one dog. The main room is open plan, so it's all one space. Big sliding doors lead out to a glass veranda. The view from there is over fields, and you often see horses in the next meadow. It's a quiet spot.

The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs or kids. There's parking right outside, and an electric vehicle charger.

Old Buckenham itself is known for having the largest village green in England. There are two village pubs, both about a ten-minute walk away. They do food. The nearest shop is a couple of miles drive in Wymondham.

If you're bringing a horse, there are stables and grazing available on site. You can hack out from the property.

For things to do, Banham Zoo is about ten minutes by car and is good for families. Snetterton Race Circuit is nearby if you like motor racing. The old WW2 airfield has a museum and a cafe. For a bigger town, Diss and Wymondham are both about a fifteen-minute drive. They have the usual supermarkets and a few independent shops. Wymondham Abbey is worth a look.

Norwich is about half an hour's drive. It's a proper city with a castle, cathedral, the Forum, shops, and plenty of places to eat.

The coast is a bit further. The North Norfolk coast, with places like Cromer and Sheringham, is roughly an hour away. To the east, the Suffolk heritage coast, including Southwold and Walberswick, is about forty-five minutes.

The lodge has a dishwasher, wifi, TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
