The Hawthorns is in Dunragit, Dumfriesshire. It's a detached stone cottage in its own garden. It's peaceful, you're surrounded by fields, but you're not far from the A75 so you can get about.
It sleeps ten. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, so everything is in good order. The downstairs feels spacious. There's a fireplace in the sitting room and the kitchen area is big enough for everyone to eat together.
The main thing outside is the hot tub. It's at the back in a private, enclosed garden. The garden is yours to use.
You're about three miles from Stranraer. It's a handy town for shops. The main attraction around here is the coast. The Mull of Galloway is about a half hour drive south. It's the southernmost point of Scotland, good for a walk and the lighthouse. Castle Kennedy Gardens are about ten minutes away by car, if you like that sort of thing.
For golf, there's the Stranraer Golf Club or the more famous Portpatrick Dunskey course, which is about twenty minutes drive up the coast. If you want to go further, you can get over to the Rhinns of Galloway or up towards Glen Trool in the Galloway Forest Park, both within about forty minutes.
Facilities cover the basics: parking, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a woodburning stove and the firewood is provided.
