Jamie's Shepherds Hut is in Bowness on Solway. It sits within a site called The Garrison. It's one detached hut among a few others.
It sleeps three. One bedroom with a double bed and a single bunk above it. One small bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but basic.
You're staying on an old Roman fort site. There's a small visitor centre with a model of the fort. They found a lot of stuff when they were building here.
The hut has its own little patio area. It's open plan inside. There's a TV, WiFi, and bedding is included. Parking is right there. You can bring one dog.
On site, there's a gym you can use and a bistro that does good food. In the village, about a five minute walk, there's a pub and a tearoom.
You're right on the Solway Coast, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's very flat and good for birdwatching. The Hadrian's Wall path ends here. You're also on Cycle Route 72. It's popular with people doing the coast to coast walk or cycle.
Carlisle is about a twenty minute drive. You've got the castle and the town centre there. Silloth is a ten minute drive along the coast. They have a good golf course and a few cafes.
The northern edge of the Lake District, like Keswick, is about 30 to 40 minutes away by car if you want mountains.
