North Plain Barn is in Bowness on Solway. It's a converted barn, semi-detached from the other holiday let, but you have your own garden and parking. It's set back from a quiet lane with open views across the Solway Firth to Scotland.
It sleeps thirteen people. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It has a 5 Star rating, which in practical terms means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. The main living space is open plan upstairs to make the most of the light and the views. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.
Downstairs is a games room with a full-size pool table. The master bedroom has a roll-top bath and a separate shower. One bedroom has three single beds, which is useful for teenagers, and it has its own shower room. There's also a wet room on the ground floor.
Outside, there's a balcony with seating and a charcoal barbecue. The garden is enclosed.
The beach is about two hundred yards away. It's a pebble beach and mudflats, good for birdwatching. The local pub is a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is in Kirkbride, about six and a half miles.
You're right on the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Hadrian's Wall is a short drive inland. Carlisle is about fifteen miles away. The northern edges of the Lake District, like Keswick, are within a thirty minute drive. You can also easily get into southern Scotland from here.
For facilities: There's WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
