This is the Tiberius Claudius Augustus Germanicus Suite at The Garrison in Bowness-on-Solway. It's a studio apartment for two people. A one bedroom, one bathroom place with a 4 Star rating.
The site is an old Roman fort. They found a lot of stuff when they were building it. There's a small visitor centre with a model of how it might have looked. You can stay right on Hadrian's Wall.
It's a good spot if you're walking or cycling. The place is on the Coast to Coast path and Hadrian's Cycleway. Bowness is part of the Solway Coast, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There's a pub and a tearoom within walking distance.
You're about half an hour's drive from a lot. Carlisle is close for history, like the castle. The Northern Lakes are within reach without going all the way into the busier parts. Gretna Green and southern Scotland are easy to get to.
On site, there's a shared gym and a bistro that does good food. The apartment itself has the basics covered: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, and parking. It's all open plan. One dog is allowed.
