Church Cottage Rigg

Church Cottage is in Rigg, down in Dumfriesshire. It's an apartment on the ground floor of a converted church. You have your own front door in a little courtyard.

It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. It's been done up, but they kept the old church windows and the nice tiled floor in the hall. It's level access, so if you need wheelchair access to get in, it's fine.

Rigg is a quiet village. Gretna Green is literally the next place along. You're right by the A75 and the M6, so it's easy to get to, but the cottage itself is set back from the road.

Gretna Green is obviously famous for weddings. But even if you're not getting married, the Gretna Green Outlet Village is there for shopping. The Devil's Porridge Museum in Eastriggs is about ten minutes away by car, which tells the local wartime history. It's interesting.

You're well placed for getting out. Dumfries itself is about half an hour's drive. The Lake District is maybe 45 minutes to an hour, depending on which bit. Hadrian's Wall is under an hour. You can easily do a day trip to either.

For facilities, you've got a patio area, parking, WiFi, TV, and a walk-in shower. Bedding and towels are included. The electricity is all in the price. No pets.
