Haaf Netters Rest

Haaf Netters Rest is one of the studio apartments at The Garrison in Bowness on Solway. It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's all on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible, with grab rails and a walk-in shower.

The Garrison is built on the site of an old Roman fort, Fort Maia. They found a lot of stuff when they were building it. There's a small visitor centre on site with a model of the fort and a shop if you're interested.

You get access to an on-site gym and a bistro. The bistro is good. There's a pub and a tearoom in the village too, both a short walk away. Silloth is a nice drive along the coast and has cafes and a good golf course.

The property is right on the Solway Coast, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's very flat and good for walking and cycling. Cycle route 72, Hadrian's Cycleway, goes straight through. It's popular with people doing the coast to coast walk as a stopover.

Within about half an hour's drive you've got Carlisle with its castle, Gretna Green, and the start of the Northern Lake District. Keswick is about an hour away.

Facilities wise: there's a patio, parking, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. One well-behaved dog is welcome. A cot and highchair are available if you need them.
