The Eden Hideaway is a glamping pod in Rockcliffe Cross, Cumbria. It's a single wooden pod in a field, so it's detached. You can bring two dogs.
It’s new and well-made by a local firm. Inside, it’s one big room with a kingsize bed at one end and a small sofa and kitchenette at the other. The ceiling is high so it doesn’t feel cramped. There’s a proper shower room with a heated towel rail. It’s got a 3 Star rating. That means it’s clean, warm and has what you need, but it’s not a hotel.
The main thing is the view. The French doors look straight out over the River Eden to the Lake District fells. You can walk out of the garden gate and right down to the riverbank on the Castletown Estate. Some of those riverside walks aren't open to the general public.
You’re in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but you’re only a couple of minutes from the M6. That makes it easy to get around. Carlisle is about ten minutes by car. It’s got the castle and cathedral if you want a day in a city.
Within half an hour you can be in the Lake District National Park for walking, or along the Solway coast. Hadrian's Wall is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The National Trust and English Heritage look after parts of it.
There’s a pub that does food about a mile and a quarter away. On site, you’ve got your own enclosed patio with furniture, parking right next to the pod, bike storage, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
If you’re a bigger group, you can book this pod together with Capricorn Cottage, which is nearby.
