Mount Farm - The Stable
Mount Farm - The Stable is on our small working farm in Blackford. It's a renovated stable block. We're right on the edge of the village, so it's quiet, but you can see Carlisle from the garden.
It sleeps seven. There are three bedrooms and they all have ensuite shower rooms. No main bathroom, so it's showers only. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining, sitting area all together. Doors open straight out onto the private garden. The garden is enclosed.
There's a hot tub in the garden. It's under cover. The farm track runs past the garden fence, so you might see us going by with the tractor.
The entrance and ground floor are wheelchair accessible. The living space is all on one level. Just be aware it's a farmyard, so the ground outside can be uneven.
Carlisle is about ten minutes by car. They've got the castle, Tullie House museum, and the cathedral. Hadrian's Wall is a short drive away. The National Trust looks after a lot of it.
You can be in the Lake District in half an hour. Keswick, with Derwentwater, is about a 30 minute drive. Windermere is a bit further. The Lake District National Park site is useful for planning.
Gretna Green is twenty minutes away, just over the border into Scotland. The Solway coast and the beaches in Dumfries and Galloway are within a 30 minute drive too.
Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi included. Bedding and towels are provided. Parking is right outside. We allow up to two dogs.
