The Annex
The Annex is in Aglionby, which is just outside Carlisle. It's in the garden of our house, but it's separate and private. It's a quiet spot.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's clean, modern and everything works. The bed is a double. The shower is good.
You're on the edge of the village, so it's peaceful, but you can be on the M6 in a few minutes. That's useful for getting to the Lakes or up into Scotland.
Carlisle is about ten minutes by car. The city centre has the castle and the cathedral if you like history. There are shops and places to eat.
For a day out, the Lake District is obviously the big one. You can be at the northern lakes, like Ullswater, in roughly half an hour. Hadrian's Wall is about the same drive to the east. The Lake District National Park and English Heritage for Hadrian's Wall have good information for planning.
What's here: there's parking right outside. The living area is all one space with a kitchen. There's a washing machine, WiFi, a TV. The towels and bedding are included. We have space for bikes if you bring them. Sorry, no pets.
