Brown Dyke Stables
Brown Dyke Stables is a converted barn on our farm near Scaleby. It's next to our house, but you've got your own space. The lane up to it is private.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy. There's also a wet room on the ground floor. We've kept the original beams and stone inside.
It's a working beef farm, so you'll see the animals out in the fields. The garden is enclosed and looks out over the countryside. It's a quiet spot.
We're about five miles from Brampton, which has shops. The nearest pub is a mile and a half away. A restaurant is two and a half miles.
Carlisle is a short drive for anything else you need. Hadrian's Wall is close by too. The National Trust looks after a lot of it.
You can get into the Lake District in under an hour. Newcastle and the Scottish borders are also within reach for a day trip.
For facilities, it's all there: woodburning stove, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. We allow one well-behaved dog. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones.
