Old Byre Cottage is in Boltonfellend, out in the Cumbrian countryside. It's a converted barn, semi-detached with Fell View Cottage next door. They share a quiet lane. It’s a quiet spot. The views are over fields.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite. It got its 4 Star rating in 2023 after a full refurbishment, so everything is new. It’s clean and modern.
The living space is all open plan. That means the kitchen, dining and sitting area are all in one big room. It’s bright because of the big windows and patio doors. You can let one well-behaved dog.
Practical stuff: there’s a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. The garden is enclosed.
For shops and pubs, you’ll need to drive. Brampton and Longtown are the nearest market towns, about ten or fifteen minutes away.
You’re well placed for day trips. Carlisle is about twenty minutes. Hadrian’s Wall is within half an hour for a walk along the ruins. The edge of the Lake District National Park is maybe forty minutes, depending on where you’re headed. The Solway Coast is about the same.
