Cleugh Foot is in Carwinley, Cumbria. It's one of the old estate cottages on the Netherby Estate, so it's pink and sits by itself. You look out over fields and woodland that goes down to the River Esk. It was all done up inside in 2022.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps with the morning queue. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The kitchen is new and has what you need. The sitting room has a wood burner and doors out to the garden. Outside, there's a pergola with a hot tub, a table for eating, and a firepit. The views across the estate are good, especially at sunset. There's also a fenced-off bit for dogs, with another firepit and some seats.
You're on a big private estate here. You can walk straight out from the door onto miles of paths through the parkland and woods, and along the river. It feels very quiet.
For a pub or a meal out, the nearest is about two and a quarter miles away in Longtown. The Solway Coast with its beaches is over the border in Scotland, about a twenty-five minute drive. You're right between two big parks. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is to the east, and the edge of the Lake District National Park is about a half hour drive to the south. Hadrian's Wall is a short drive north.
What's here: plenty of parking right by the cottage. The garden is yours. There's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and sometimes farm vehicles.
If you're planning trips, these sites are useful: Lake District National Park and Northumberland National Park.
