Highgate

Highgate is a detached cottage in Hethersgill. It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which is accurate. It's nicely done, comfortable. It's not massive but it's well looked after.

There's a wood burner in the living room and patio doors out to the garden. The garden is enclosed and private. There's a hot tub out there. The bathroom has a good shower. We leave a welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits, and there's a bottle of fizz in the fridge. You'll find dressing gowns and slippers.

The location is good for getting to different places. You're about half an hour from the northern edge of the Lake District. The Solway Coast is the same sort of distance. Carlisle is ten miles away for supermarkets, the castle, and the cathedral. If you head north, you're in Scotland in about twenty minutes. Gretna Green is just over the border.

For local days out, Birdoswald Roman Fort is on Hadrian's Wall. Talkin Tarn is nearby for a walk or some fishing. Walby Farm Park is popular if you have children.

The facilities are all there: WiFi, a Smart TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
