Low Floweryhirst Cottage is here in Lyneholmeford, up on the farm attached to our house. It's for two people.
It's a one bedroom, one bathroom place. The rating is 3 Star, so again, it's comfortable and clean but not fancy. Everything's on one level, which is handy. The main room is open plan with the living area and kitchen together. There's a wood burner for heat. It works well.
You've got your own enclosed garden out the back. It's quiet. You'll hear birds and sheep, that's about it. There's a stream and some woods in the fields below the cottage if you fancy a walk without getting in the car.
The local pub is about half a mile down the lane. It's a proper walk, not just across a car park. They do food. The nearest shop is in Brampton, about nine miles drive, so you'll want to come prepared.
For history, Lanercost Priory is close by. It's 12th century and part of the Hadrian's Wall site. You can have a look round there. It's a good half-day out.
Location-wise, you're right between a few places. The Lake District is a drive, maybe 40 minutes to the south. Northumberland National Park is about the same to the east. You can also pop over into Scotland quite easily from here.
What's here: the wood burner, TV, WiFi, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed. No pets, I'm afraid.
