Low Floweryhirst Cottage is our place in Lyneholmeford. It's attached to our farmhouse but it's completely separate for you. It's just for two people.
It's small and simple. One bedroom upstairs, a bathroom with a shower, and an open plan room downstairs with the kitchen, sitting area, and a wood burner. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The garden is yours to use. It's quiet, just fields and the sound of sheep. There's a stream in the field below you can walk along.
The local pub is about half a mile down the lane. It does good food. The nearest proper shop is in Brampton, which is about nine miles away, so you'll want to come with supplies.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door on the quiet lanes. Lanercost Priory is very close, and that's part of the Hadrian's Wall area. It's a good spot for a walk and a look around. English Heritage Lanercost Priory has the details.
It's a good base for getting to other places. The edge of the Lake District, maybe Keswick, is about a 40-minute drive. The Northumberland National Park and the Scottish Borders are also within half an hour or so.
What's here: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
For planning days out, Lake District National Park and Northumberland National Park sites are useful.
