Dad's Shed is a single-storey cottage, detached. It’s just one bedroom, sleeps two. It’s quite spacious inside, more than you’d think from the name.
There’s a conservatory at the back that looks out over your own patio area and a hot tub. Beyond that is one of two fishing lakes. The lakes are for guests to use. It’s coarse fishing, so no need for a license.
The cottage has a 5 Star rating. It’s well kitted out – washing machine, wifi, TV, all the bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
You’re in Alvingham, out in the Lincolnshire countryside. It’s quiet. Louth is the nearest town, about three miles away. It’s a Georgian market town. They still have markets there a few times a week. There are shops, pubs, and restaurants there if you want them.
The coast is about 10 miles east. Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea are typical seaside towns, about 20 minutes by car. The beaches are long and sandy. If you’re after something different, the seal colony at Donna Nook is less than 10 miles away. You can see them on the beach, especially in the winter pupping season.
Inland, you’ve got the Lincolnshire Wolds. They’re good for walking and cycling. Plenty of country pubs and tea rooms around. It’s a decent base for exploring.
