Sgath Na Craig

Sgath Na Craig is our place in Colbost. It's a white croft house on Skye. It's detached, so there's no one attached to you.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place. That means it's comfortable and clean, but it's not a show home. It's an old house.

The view from the front is the reason you'd book it. You look right out over Loch Dunvegan towards the castle. You can see Coral Beach. On a very clear day, you can see Harris. The main window is big, so you just get that view while you're having your tea.

You're a few minutes' walk from Colbost pier. The Three Chimneys restaurant is about 250 yards up the road. You'll need to book that a long time in advance.

For shopping, you drive about ten minutes to Dunvegan village. It has a Co-op and places to eat. Glendale is about the same.

Neist Point lighthouse is about a twenty minute drive. The walk down to it is steep and the walk back up is steeper. You might see dolphins from there. Waterstein Head is nearby but the path is right on the cliff edge in parts.

For a day out, you've got the whole of Skye. The Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr are about a 30 minute drive. Uig, for the ferry to the Outer Hebrides, is about 25 minutes. Portree is about 40 minutes.

Inside, there's a woodburning stove. It's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. We allow up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, but it's not Fort Knox for a determined terrier.
